Your e mail seems ok but it must be written in capitals, I had written it small with the 6350. My fault.

Stuart....we lived in those dodgy flats on Nienberger Strasse...caught the bus on Kalkuma (sp)Strasse...just by the Kaufhof & opposite the kiosk which was open all hours and sold Dortmunder Union & Jegermeister at fantasically low prices. Round the corner was a great dive of a bar which had a kegelbahn in the cellar, you could intercom upstairs for beer, currywurst mit frites & most things needed for a good night out. The old NAAFI site seems to have been built over with housing, but the old Goering headquarters next to it ( statues of manly men struggling with horses)is now some sort of high tech seaworld...aquarium thingy, but they have kept the statues by the look of it and also that wonderful driveway.

Lived in Kaiserswerther Strasse early seventies. Remember Geordie and Sandra Cairns, Terry Churchill, Paul Dobson, Roland Middleton, Mike Thijm, Sue Cleaton, Leslie Paramour. Was in Maidstone House. Can remember roaming round Nord Park, The Messe and Rheinstadion [Stadium and Pool]. Used to catch either the No.10 or No.11 tram into town.

Hi!
I lived on Ranke Strasse in the mid 80's. I went to Dalton Middle School before moving up to Kent, which merged with Queens whilst I was in the 6th form.
I absolutely loved Dusseldorf and my fondest memories of my school years are from my time spent at both DMS and Kent.
I remember my year being the first ever year to do GCSE's-seems like yesterday to me!!
People I remember are Darren Dempsey, Sam Wilding, Chris Richie, Sam Walker, Dawn and Michelle Appleyard, Stephen Burrows, to name but a few.
My sister is Jeannie Barr and my brother is Neil. They'll probably be more remembered than me as they were always in trouble!! I was the eldest and the quiet one!!
I'm so thrilled to have stumbled upon this site, which I only came across after hearing that the old Queens site (Windsor Lower) is closing down for good this summer.
It made me feel all nostalgic reading about that so I set about googling Kent school and found you guys!
I look forward to checking again in the near future and reading more posts.
Cheerio for now, Mel x
PS I boarded for my last year or so as we moved to SHAPE.

i never got the bus to Kent but my brother Paul did, in 73/74 we moved to Belgium that's when i started in Deal house. Dusseldorf was a graet place, we used to watch Fortuna Dusseldorf on a weekend and on late nights when i was tucked up in bed yoiu could hear the crowd cheering. Spent many hours messing around in the old Goering headquarters, my best mate then was Steve Cairns, think he had an older brother George and their old man was RMP (stayed away from him!) Good times

I used to get on at Kaiserwerthers Strasse, along with Lindy Spinks and Shane Kennedy, as well as others whom I can't recall now.

I certainly remember Maggie . . .

I was seeing Heather Moyce before she started going to Kent School.

. . crumbs . . that was so long ago now.

Hope you're all well,

Nick
