New Chat Time!
Recently there was discussion on whether 9pm is too late (on a school night and all) for us to start chatting. So for an experimental period we will start Tuesdays on 8pm and Fridays at 9pm. So remember ...
TUESDAY CHATS START AT 8pm!!!
Shirts abroad
There was talk of pix from people's holidays showing one of the infamous Kentie Reunion t-shirts (or polo shirt) in foreign places.
To kick things off here's one [see right] of Shirty (our webmaster) on holiday in Jamaica - that's the bay of Ocho Rios in the background. Any more for any more??
BLINKIN HECK!! Come on Kenties!! He's flown w-a-a-a-y past 100% of his target!!!
Dave has raced passed his target of £3,000 for the Fostering Network's Inca Trail Trek - at last count it was over £4,000 - with a great push from his clients!! Are there still Kenties out there thinking about donating? Go on then! It takes place on the 3rd Oct 2008 - so time is ticking - and he has a fundraising page too (click on any of the graphics around this text).

Come on all you fellow Kentie troopers, dig deep and make this venture worth the blisters for our very own Dave Mac in October ...!!
P.S. If anyone hears any news from Dave - let us know please???
We have been contacted by Clare Gibson of The Army Children Archive (TACA). This is a website launched online in October 2007 to collect, preserve and share details of the 'army-child experience'. We Kenties know a few things about that! Anyways, here's the link if you want to go and explore this new addition to the web.

Reaching the end of a job interview, the human resources person asked a young engineer fresh out of university, "And what starting salary were you looking for?"
The engineer said, "In the neighborhood of £125,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."
The interviewer said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5 weeks holiday, 14 paid bank holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every 2 years - say, a BMW or Audi?"
The engineer sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?"
The interviewer replied, "Yeah, but you started it!"
Caz's party pictures are now in the picture gallery!

Quote of the week ...
"Dance like it hurts, Love like you need money, Work when people are watching." (Scott Adams)
Last day on the job?
I guess these guys aren't coming back ...
All over for another year
Here we go, back to work and 2008 is already under way. Time to take down all the decorations, clear the tree and think of summer holidays, and that credit card bill!! Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year and I'm looking forward to lively comment and debate on the messageboards this year.
Resolutions for this year:
- Help get the reunion stuff for 2009 firmed up
- Create a user guide for this site - it does more than you guys think!
- Lose some pounds ... (weight and money!)
- Enjoy 2008
A moment of weirdness ...
This is one of the weirdest things on the web at the moment - and prepare to be spooked! Get a pen and paper and retrieve your maths hat from that dusty box. It works every time, but how?
Click [HERE] to experience the weirdness for yourself ...
P.S. Actually I know how it works, but it's still very clever!
Following on from the October Newsletter and the survey that followed, we have had a number of replies and it is now clear that we have a location and date!
The location is
Hafan Y Môr, Pwllheli in North Wales
by one vote, and it was unanimous that it would be a weekend in the Spring of 2009 - so we've plumped for April 24th-27th - just after Easter and best value for money! So plenty of time to save up and physically prepare for the event!

"A careless answer"
A woman had gained a few pounds. It was most noticeable to her when she squeezed into a pair of her old blue jeans. Wondering if the added weight was noticeable to everyone else, she asked her husband, "Darling, do these jeans make me look like the side of the house?"
"No, dear, not at all," he replied, "Our house isn't blue."
He is almost over the cold he caught sleeping in the garage for three nights ...
"Cinderella Question"
The tax accountant had just read the story of Cinderella to his four-year-old daughter for the first time. The little girl was fascinated by the story, especially the part where the pumpkin turns into a golden coach.
Suddenly she piped up, "Daddy, when the pumpkin turned into a golden coach, would that be classed as income or a long-term capital gain?"
We have vision!
All the Kentie moves - and MORE - have now been transferred to KentieTube (aka YouTube) so that we can run them happily on this site. Check out the playground for some great memory joggers:
Playground Movies
And also check out the Reunion 2002, 2003 and 2006 pages, and the Kentie Pirate adventures!
P.S. If you've ever wondered how to talk like a pirate - you need to check out the
"The Kentie Pirates hit Norfolk!"
page - the movies at the end help you with the infamous five A's ...
Pirate 1: Eeeeee, lad - you've got a fine 'ook and wooden peg there me hearty!!!
Pirate 2: Aaaaaarrrrhhh, should be too - cost me an arm and a leg!!!
Sorted.
**** NEW stuff on the site ****
I've overhauled the
